Can There Be Diarrhea With Prostatitis In Men How To Get Rid Of It

With diseases of the prostate gland, a man is faced with many uncomfortable symptoms, some of which are not even customary to discuss aloud. One of these signs is an intestinal tract disorder. Diarrhea with prostatitis is rare. More often there is such a violation of defecation as constipation, but it happens that the patient complains of diarrhea with prostatitis. IMPORTANT: intestinal dysfunction can also cause the male disease itself, due to infection with bacteria in the prostate gland.

Does prostatitis have diarrhea?

According to medical research, gastrointestinal pathologies cause problems with the prostate, and inflammation of the gland negatively affects the work of the intestinal tract. Everything is interconnected, since the organs are anatomically located in close proximity to each other in men.

Regular bowel movements mechanically stimulate the prostate, which ensures its full functionality. Long-term digestive disorders provoke the formation of stagnation in the glandular organ.

This factor is an excellent environment for the reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms and the onset of inflammation.

The opposite process is often observed. With prostatitis, there may be diarrhea or constipation caused by an enlarged prostate. The swelling of the organ interferes with the full activity of the intestinal tract, which is why disorders arise.

Why is there diarrhea?

The main cause of diarrhea is disruption of the intestines, provoked by pathological processes in the body. In addition, diarrhea with prostatitis is a consequence of:

  • Errors in diet. Some foods contribute to the liquefaction of stool, and if you have a tendency to diarrhea, excessive consumption of them causes loose stools;
  • Antibiotic therapy. Antibiotics, often prescribed for prostatitis, suppress the activity of not only disease-causing, but also beneficial bacteria. If you do not drink probiotics at the same time as taking the funds, dysbiosis develops. This is a violation of the intestinal microflora that causes stool disorders;
  • Local therapy. An effective method of treating prostatitis is the use of rectal suppositories, but sometimes they have a side effect in the form of diarrhea.
