Men from 30 to 50 years old experience impotence symptoms in 12-20% of cases. The elderly (over 60 years) are most susceptible to the disease, as 37% of men suffer. Psychogenic impotence is called problems with the excitation of the genital organ, which are provoked by psychological trauma or psychogenic disorders. In therapy, psychogenic impotence is considered the simplest type, since the problem lies in a psychosomatic disorder, so there is often no need for medication.

Symptoms

Diagnosis of impotence in many areas is based on examination, questioning and anamnesis. If the patient manages to qualitatively state the essence of the problem, the probability of a correct diagnosis increases. You can find out the psychogenic form of erectile dysfunction using the characteristic features:

  • Suppression of libido. The desire for sex and attraction to the female gender practically disappears;
  • Apathy, to a great extent. May be expressed as indifference or even fear;
  • Poor erection;
  • Intermittent erection, but it quickly stops.

To determine how to treat the disease, diagnosis may be required through an examination in a medical institution.

Reasons

The psychogenic effect on potency is very strong, although many representatives of the male side underestimate it. The psychological state and the nervous system of the body are directly related. Deviations in one area involve another system in the pathological process. In the course of excitation, impulses are transmitted along several paths to the spinal cord, and the reaction of pumping blood into the organ is triggered. If for some reason the impulse was ignored or not received, an erection will not occur.

Causes of psychogenic erectile dysfunction:

  • Stress. During periods of strong emotional or psychological stress, a man needs a dose of adrenaline. The hormone is released during sex. This phenomenon helps only with a mild form of stress. If the stage has reached an average or severe level, on the contrary, apathy for sex appears. Due to excessive worries and obsession with thoughts, a person cannot relax and get excited normally;
  • Sexual trauma. The first Sexual intercourse for many men did not proceed in the best way, memories continue to be present for a long time. Because of the reluctance to fail again, a man may be afraid of sex and become impotent. On a subconscious level, a person will experience the process again and again;
  • Resentment. It is likely that a particular partner offended a man in some way, and sometimes the resentment spreads to the entire female sex. Because of ridicule, offensive remarks, a person may hold a grudge for a long time or treat women with aggression;
  • Fears or phobias. Psychogenic impotence can develop due to a feeling of fear of sex or sexual intercourse with a certain girl. Even the fear of contraception is not uncommon; coils or condoms can cause a phobia. It can be easy to get rid of a phobia, it is enough to study the situation and assess it sensibly, or it is very difficult, then you will have to make an appointment with a psychotherapist;
  • Frequent use of alcohol or drugs. Substances affect the psychological and emotional well-being, dulling the natural urge and giving a feeling of euphoria, followed by apathy and depression;
  • Hypermotivational syndrome. A person experiences a strong sexual attraction and desire, but this surge of energy can be abruptly replaced by an "ebb";
  • Partner's indifference. This can be expressed by coldness, lack of interest and initiative. A woman indicates dissatisfaction or absolute indifference to the process, using sex only as a satisfaction of need. Sexual intercourse, as a process of obtaining pleasure, is not regarded, and the man loses interest in sex;
  • Sexual satiety. The body of a man with frequent intimacy may show signs of impotence. In fact, the reason is insufficient recovery time and lack of stimulation, as traditional sex becomes boring.Erection increases when watching erotic films, performing exotic poses, role-playing games, etc.;
  • Habit. A man can become attached to a single woman and no longer be aroused by intimacy with another woman. The smell of the body, hair, body movements, forms are remembered so much that other types of appearance do not cause excitement.

Psychogenic trauma

The causes of psychogenic trauma are varied, but they all occur according to approximately the same algorithm. In total, there are 3 main steps in the formation of psychogenic impotence:

Psychogenic impotence for its treatment requires determining the cause and the factor that provoked the problem. Often the causes appear in several places at once. A phobia can also be provoked by a certain type of sexual intimacy and the conditions for conducting it. It is the task of the patient to preliminarily determine the psychological factors that provoke impotence, but it is worth doing treatment by making an appointment with a psychotherapist.

  • Weight. Large or small weight greatly affects sexual function;
  • Chronic ailments, especially in the reproductive system;
  • The anamnesis is checked for damage to the male organ and the entire system.

During the survey, the doctor almost always asks a question about external factors that can provoke impotence. It is worth paying attention when erectile dysfunction appears.

  • When intimacy with one partner;
  • When sexual intimacy with several partners, but on the condition that an erection occurs during sex with one of them;
  • When intercourse in extreme conditions.

Based on the information collected, a conclusion is made about the form of the disease and the treatment of dysfunction.

  • Speman;
  • Tentex Forte;
  • Gerimax

Treatment is provided thanks to psychostimulants and drugs with a general tonic effect. There are synthetic and polycomponent drugs, but they can only be prescribed by a doctor. Among the safer and more natural remedies, it is worth highlighting: honey, propolis, stone oil, ginseng tincture, mummy. To increase efficiency, it is worth using multivitamin complexes, which increase metabolism in the reproductive system.
