Trental for impotence

Trental For Impotence

Trental is a modern pharmacological agent designed to normalize the rheological qualities of blood, expand vascular lumens and increase the rate of microcirculation.

This drug is recommended to be systematically taken by men with erectile dysfunction of vascular origin. Patients should not take Trental uncontrollably, as this can lead to an even greater deterioration in sexual health. Any drug treatment for impotence should begin with the recommendation of an andrologist who has established an accurate diagnosis and causes of the disease.

Release form

A medicinal product with a vasodilating effect is available in the form of tablets and solution. The pills are oblong or round, biconvex. White dragees, covered with a special protective shell, have a characteristic lettering engraving.

Indications for the use of the drug

Trental is discharged to patients of different ages after diagnosing such functional abnormalities as:

  • disorders of cerebral circulation due to cerebral atherosclerosis, some ischemic and post-stroke conditions;
  • instability of peripheral circulation, provoked by trophic disorders and atherosclerotic lesions, post-thrombotic syndrome or frostbite;
  • disorders microcirculation in the perineal region, causing a decrease or complete loss of erectile abilities;
  • slow blood circulation in the vessels and retina of the eyes;
  • otosclerosis, pathological changes in the vessels of the inner ear.

  • Pharmacological action

    Sustained-release tablets significantly increase blood flow. This effect can be achieved due to the effect on the altered deformability of erythrocytes. The drug inhibits platelet aggregation, causing a decrease in plasma viscosity. As a result, in areas affected by insufficient microcirculation, the normal rate of blood circulation is restored. The main active ingredient in Trental tablets and solutions is pentoxifylline. This chemical has a slight myotropic vasodilator effect and causes blood vessels to dilate. Long-term treatment with the use of this drug substance stabilizes the condition of patients with severe cerebral and cardiac circulatory disorders. In addition, the drug relieves the peripheral arteries from occlusive lesions, preventing the occurrence of abnormalities in the formation and maintenance of a healthy erection.

    Method of application

    Trental tablets are taken after consultation with the attending physician, who calculates the optimal dosage of the drug, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient. The remedy is usually taken at 100 mg three times a day. The maximum daily dose of pentoxifylline is 1200 mg. A change in the amount of active components towards a decrease is undertaken in the case of renal disorders and hypertension. The physician must constantly monitor the blood pressure level of a patient taking a vasodilator drug, in the presence of diabetes mellitus, requiring the use of hypoglycemic agents. Monitoring of blood clotting system parameters is performed if it is necessary to use anticoagulants.

    Contraindications

    Refusal of a blood-thinning medication is performed upon detection in a patient:

    • individual intolerance to pentoxifylline or any of the components of the drug
    • pregnancy and the onset of breastfeeding
    • acute myocardial infarction
    • massive bleeding and extensive hemorrhage in brain, retina

    The drug is taken under the supervision of a doctor and, if necessary, its dose is adjusted if the patient has the following pathologies:

    • gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer
    • chronic heart failure, arterial hypotension and cardiac arrhythmias
    • renal failure
    • blood coagulation disorders
