Are women really indifferent to porn
Are women really indifferent to porn?
It is generally accepted that watching obscene things has a certain gender bias. But the latest statistics published in the source show that the opinion about the male nature of the porn industry is erroneous.
The truth is, women are just as likely, if not more likely, to spend a rainy day hanging out on erotic sites like Redtube.
A recent study by Marie Claire found that about one in three (31%) women watch porn every week. At the same time, PornHub, one of the most popular free porn sites in the world, recently found that women make up over a quarter (29%) of the audience.
What influences women's love for porn?
"Women have always liked watching porn," she explains.
"The difference is that today they're willing to admit they're doing it as we're all getting a little more honest and mature about sex. That's good."
But while male porn fans have their individual "floating" fantasies, there are a few similarities when it comes to women and the world of pornography.
Women like to watch porn alone
In a survey by Marie Claire about contemporary relationships between women and porn, it was found that they rarely watch explicit scenes together with a partner.
66 percent reported they "never" did this to their other half. Less than a third (31%) admitted that they occasionally watch with a partner, while only 3% said they regularly watch porn with the man they sleep with.
Further research has shown that a quarter of British women admit to watching porn alone behind their partner's back.
"Women's interest in pornography is mainly driven by their partner-laden sexuality," study author De Cadenet concludes.
"Most of our respondents use porn to find what they want and to figure out how to please themselves."
"There's no question that a significant number of women who use porn do it for the satisfaction of masturbating," adds Jenny Paige.
But those who enjoy watching adult content with their other half are increasingly doing so to tune in to sex.
"Research has shown that 40% of the time it is the woman who initiates the move. The good news is that more women are taking the lead in the bedroom."
Women spend more time watching porn than men
Surprisingly, it's true. The same study by Pornhub found that women, on average, spend 1:14 more minutes per day on the site than their male counterparts.
Jenny Paige says: "Yes, women spend more time watching porn than men, and there is a strong scientific basis for this fact. The reason is obvious: women's orgasms last longer than men's when they masturbate or have sex."< /p>
