Can alprostadil replace potency pills
Can alprostadil replace potency pills?
Although Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are recognized market leaders in erectile drugs and, in fact, have revolutionized the treatment of impotence, there are still substitutes for such drugs, for example: alprostadil. How effective is it? Let's take a closer look.
What is alprostadil
Alprostadil is a synthetic analogue of the natural prostaglandin E1, a hormone-like substance that is formed in the body from fatty acids enzymatically. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
It is a lyophilized (dehydrated and dried) substance for preparing a solution for injection.
How alprostadil works
Alprostadil has pronounced vasodilating properties and, when administered, helps to fill the body of the penis with blood and form an erection.
Unlike Viagra or Cialis, this drug is injected directly into the penis by intracavernous injection into the back of the penis closer to the base.
Alprostadil is administered 5-10 minutes before sexual intercourse, in the amount prescribed by the doctor.
The duration of an erection should not exceed four hours.
Drug effectiveness
According to US studies of 1511 men with a mean age of 61 years who took alprostadil, 66% of them developed an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse.
Side effects
- penile pain is the most common side effect of alprostadil
- swelling, fibrous nodes
- rash, itching
- overdose can lead to a very long erection (priapism) followed by vascular damage
Contraindications
Alprostadil is not recommended if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug, as well as in patients who have:
- anatomical defects of the penis, such as angulation, cavernous fibrosis, or Peyronie's disease
- penis implant
- sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia
< li>contraindications to sexual activity (heart disease; hypertension, advanced age) - predisposition to increased bleeding or thrombosis
- predisposition to develop priapism
Alprostadil is sold in pharmacies, may have other names: Caverject, Vazaprostan, Edex.
If you have the above contraindications or are simply not ready to prick your reproductive organ with a syringe, then you can choose a more humane remedy to enhance erection, for example, Viagra or Cialis.
Reviews
Why injections?? I have been using Levitra for many years. Viagra is fast and short-acting, Cialis is long-lasting and good for a romantic meeting and for hugs when it takes a lot of time to persuade a partner. Levitra does a great job of preparing for sex and is amazing for repeat intercourse at night and again in the morning. Brought for myself a way to take pills to be ready. Drink Levitra on an empty stomach, wait half an hour or so, then eat something sweet, I like fruits. Of the side effects, I have heartburn if I did not eat as I just wrote.
