Oligospermia in spermogram
Oligospermia in spermogram
Causes for the development of pathology
In most cases, a complex of problems plays a key role in the development of oligospermia, which leads to an abnormal concentration of spermatozoa. The main predisposing factors include:
- Infectious or inflammatory pathologies that have received complications in the form of a decrease in the number of healthy spermatozoa;
- Sexual infections, venereal diseases;
- Hormonal disruptions due to stress or heavy physical exertion;
- Age changes;
- An advanced form of prostatitis or its untreated form;
- Varicatsolle;
- Injuries in the genital area (including after surgery).
Such predisposing factors may not be the only ones, but may become one of the complex of problems that have affected men's health. Oligospermia, the treatment of which is described below, does not pose a threat to human life, but leads to serious problems, including psychological ones.
Disease diagnosis
It is only necessary to go to a specialist if the partner has not become pregnant for a long time during unprotected intercourse. In this case, it is important to examine the sperm for its structure and quality. Spermogram in this case is the determining factor. Such an analysis will give the specialist a detailed answer about the presence of spermatozoa, their concentration and mobility. If the sperm concentration is lower than expected, then the specialist will prescribe additional examinations to identify the cause of such a picture.
In addition, a general blood and urine test, ultrasound of the genital organs, testing for latent sexual infections, biochemistry and other manipulations are prescribed.
Treatment and prognosis
Therapy for oligospermia will vary due to the degree of development of the pathology. At degree 1, it will be enough just to drink a vitamin complex, rest more and avoid stressful situations. For other degrees, it is important to choose a competent set of activities, which may include:
- Prescribing hormonal drugs to increase testosterone levels;
- The use of traditional medicine;
- Lifestyle changes;
- Surgical intervention.
The attending physician will tell you how to treat oligospermia, only he is able to choose a competent treatment regimen for each specific case.
