Agalates For Impotence

A drug is prescribed to males in case of a hormonal disorder associated with a malfunction of the pituitary gland. An excessive increase in the secretion of the hormone prolactin, which regulates the functions of the gonads, negatively affects the state of the reproductive system and causes a decrease in sexual desire. The pharmacological drug has a dopaminergic effect, eliminating the unwanted symptoms of hormonal imbalance.

Indications for using Agalates

Cabergoline-based tablet formulation is prescribed for patients suffering from the following symptoms:

  • elimination of physiological postpartum lactation
  • idiopathic hyperprolactinemia
  • benign neoplasms in the pituitary gland
  • impotence caused by hormonal disruptions

  • Pharmacological action

The main active ingredient in Agalates is cabergoline. This chemical compound is a synthetic ergot alkaloid that slows down the production of prolactin. After entering the human body, the active ingredient of the tablets stimulates the work of the central dopaminergic receptors located in the hypothalamus. 3 hours after resorption of the pill, a decrease in the plasma concentration of prolactin is observed. The achieved therapeutic effect lasts for 14-20 days. Regular use of Agalates does not cause changes in the basal secretion of other pituitary hormones and cortisol. A drug with a selective effect causes a decrease in blood pressure, the greatest hypotensive effect can be traced 6 hours after the penetration of the active components into the blood. The drug is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, the maximum plasma concentration of the drug is observed after 1-4 hours. Food intake does not affect the activity of cabergoline in any way. The use of tablets does not cause negative effects of delayed action, does not provoke the onset of mutagenic processes, intoxication and poisoning with carcinogens.

    Method of application

Before starting a long drug course of treatment with Agalates, patients should be examined and made sure that there are no lesions of the heart valves, renal and pulmonary pathologies. Agalates is intended for internal use and should be drunk with meals. The starting dosage is 0.5-1 mg per week. Gradually, the doctor increases the dose of active ingredients to 3-4 mg. Patients suffering from end stage renal failure should take the drug under the supervision of a physician. Daily monitoring of blood pressure is necessary if the patient has symptomatic hypotension and is constantly taking medications to lower blood pressure. Persons taking the drug for more than six months should have an ECG examination every 3 months. If thickening or narrowing of the wall of the heart valve is detected, therapy with a pharmacological agent should be discontinued.

    Contraindications

The drug with a pronounced dopaminergic effect is not used in relation to pregnant and lactating women, children under 16 years of age, as well as patients with the following disorders:
