Erectile Dysfunction And Coronary Circulation Disease

Uro Today reports that impotence is closely linked to coronary heart disease. According to a study by Dead Goose, erectile dysfunction predicts expansion of CAD by angiography in acute coronary syndromes.

We know that impotence is not a disease in itself, but a symptom of more serious conditions in a man's body. Thus, it will be right if, after observing manifestations of erectile dysfunction for more than a month, you, without delay, consult a doctor for a medical examination. This fact was fleshed out in a study of 128 men who underwent coronary angiography for their first acute coronary syndrome. Scientists examined the presence and degree of sexual dysfunction in the subjects.

In the study, a decrease in the diameter of any coronary artery greater than 50% was considered a significant degree of coronary stenosis, and the presence of erectile dysfunction when patients scored less than 22 on the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF). The average IIEF score obtained by patients without sexual dysfunction was 24, and in patients with it 13.6.

It was found that the incidence of one vascular disease was 62% in men without ED and 37% in men with ED, but the incidence of two or three vessels was 27% in men without ED and 73% in men with ED.< /p>

Thus, the final results showed that erectile dysfunction was a problem in 74 out of 182 men. Moreover, during the study, the number of unhealthy coronary arteries, age and diabetes played a significant role in predicting erectile dysfunction. It also became known that impotence as a cause increased the risk of developing multiple vascular diseases by four times.
