-She got registered with me last fall. Her appearance was then blooming, it was hard to believe that in fact she was so sick in the very last stage. When she was discharged, I didn’t even go to say goodbye to her, it was hard in my soul, - recalled the oncologist who observed the actress.

Actors who died of cancer: names and photos

Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases of the 21st century. Despite the fact that medicine has achieved some success in the treatment of this disease, and with timely diagnosis, treatment brings positive results, cancer annually claims a huge number of lives. The insidious disease spares no one. It is impossible to be insured against it. Famous actors who died of cancer are a prime example of this.

Marcello Mastroianni

The great Italian actor died at the age of 72 from pancreatic cancer. The film La Dolce Vita, directed by Federico Fellini in 1960, instantly made the young Mastroianni a celebrity. Critics have always favorably accepted the work of the actor, and his aloof manner of performing roles was unusual for Europe, but interesting. Together with Sophia Loren, they made one of the most beautiful acting duets in the history of world cinema.

Patrick Swayze

Practically all the actors who died of cancer tried to fight the disease to the last. Not everyone was able to defeat her. In 2008, Patrick Swayze's doctor made a press statement about the actor's pancreatic cancer. He spoke of a favorable prognosis, but at the same time there was evidence that Swayze's life was counted in weeks. Soon the actor himself said that the treatment was successful, and the growth of cancer cells was stopped. But in the spring of 2009, his condition worsened, and in September of the same year, Patrick Swayze died at the age of 57.

He was a versatile actor and possessed many talents: he graduated from a ballet school, was professionally engaged in martial arts, wrote and performed songs.
