Peculiarities of urination in adults and children
Despite the fact that all people are individual, and the amount of urination per day differs, there are still statistics that say that healthy adult men should urinate two to six times, adult women - two to eight times. With children, everything is somewhat different, depending on age. Small children urinate up to 25 times a day, by one year, the frequency of urination is reduced to 10 times, and only by the age of eight or nine, the child begins to urinate on average 6-7 times a day.
Violation of urination in men. Any adult man should pay attention to the fact that he began to visit the toilet more often. If the number of trips becomes more than eight, this is already a reason to contact a urologist.
Causes of urinary disorders
Prostatitis. The most common cause of repeated urination! The inflamed prostate gland surrounds the ureter and irritates the receptors in the bladder. There is a frequent urge to urinate, but this does not mean that a man can empty his bladder at one time. Sometimes the urge turns out to be false, or the portion of excreted urine is so insignificant that soon everything repeats again.
Adenoma of the prostate. With a prostate tumor (BPH), the picture is aggravated. Since the adenoma begins to press on the urethra, it narrows it, which interferes with the process of urine excretion. Repetitive urges plague a man especially at night.
Prostate cancer. With this disease, more serious urinary disorders occur. Urine leaves with pain or burning, constant urge to torment, the man is faced with incontinence. After surgery, these symptoms can persist for up to a year. Not everyone can be completely cured.
Cystitis. A very common bladder disorder. Inflammation occurs for several reasons, but unpleasant symptoms accompany it anyway. This is Frequent urination, urge, urine is excreted in small portions, often with blood, constant discomfort in the lower abdomen, chills, fever.
Urethritis. Due to the narrowing of the urethra, the man experiences urge many times a day. Urination is painful, sometimes with discharge. The disease is infectious, caused by many viruses, bacteria and fungi. Inflammation is associated with a weakened immune system of the canal walls.
Urination for genital infections. With any of them, a man will feel discomfort and burning sensation during urination. There are many causative agents: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, condylomas, candidiasis, trichomoniasis, hepatitis B, pubic lice, HIV, syphilis, scabies (transmitted by contact of bodies).
With chlamydia in a man, white discharge from the urethra is added to the burning sensation during urination, especially in the morning. With gonorrhea, in addition to burning and frequent urination, greenish discharge from the canal. The most dangerous form of the disease is asymptomatic.
In syphilis, the first symptom is small, painless sores in the mouth. Treatment should be started as soon as possible, avoiding the transition of the disease into a latent form (latent).
Genital herpes. It is a very complex treatment that is not always crowned with success. It always flows in a latent form.
Condylomas. Warts appear on the tip of the penis or around the anus.
Candidiasis or thrush. Men experience itching and redness of the tip of the penis.
Trichomoniasis. The most common infection. It is difficult to detect in men due to the fact that the infection takes the form of an amoeba. Detected only through analysis.
Hepatitis B. The first symptoms are very similar to acute respiratory infections. At later stages, jaundice manifests itself, damage to the liver tissue begins.
Pubic lice. Irritation and itching in the genital area.
HIV. The first symptoms are joint aches, sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes.
Scabies. Itching in the lower abdomen and groin. Pimples At the first symptoms, you should immediately consult a doctor. Treatment of almost all of these infections ends positively. In the case of HIV and advanced forms of other pathogens, the treatment will be long.
Urolithiasis. In the event that there are stones in the ureters, the access of urine is blocked, and it accumulates in the bladder. A man cannot empty it entirely, a feeling of heaviness remains, the urge does not stop and is often accompanied by pain. In addition, due to mechanical damage, blood may appear in the urine.
Diabetes mellitus. Water-salt metabolism is disrupted due to the small amount of insulin (hormone), which is produced by the pancreas, which leads to a very rapid excretion of fluid from the body. As a result, urination is more frequent. The sick person feels constant fatigue, dry mouth and thirst.
Not diabetes. In the kidneys, there is a violation of urine filtration. Urination is very profuse, while the man feels thirsty and suffers from urge.
Pyelonephritis. It also occurs due to the penetration of bacteria into the renal pelvis. The causative agents are Escherichia coli, staphylococci, enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Proteus. The disease is developing rapidly, almost immediately the process of urination is disrupted. In men, the prostate gland is affected, urination becomes more frequent, and blood may appear in the urine.
Glomerulonephritis. Symptoms are similar to pyelonephritis, but with glomerulonephritis, a man's blood pressure rises and blood is found in the urine. The disease is dangerous!
Renal failure. If kidney function is impaired, all body systems suffer, including the urinary tract. Moreover, the main function of the kidneys is to remove metabolic products from the body.
Overactive bladder. With this syndrome, active urination begins at night. Urinary incontinence occurs. Men with CNS damage are susceptible to this syndrome. Prostatitis, urethritis and prostate adenoma may also have an impact.
Disorders of the nervous system also provoke frequent urination. This is facilitated by the psychologically squeezed state of the patient as a result of stress or depression, or obsessive thoughts that have appeared. Help in this matter is provided by a psychiatrist and a urologist together.
Frequent urination in women
Women, like men, are susceptible to diseases that cause frequent and painful urination.
- Seasonal cystitis occurs most frequently in women. During inflammation of the bladder, a woman experiences cramps and burning, body temperature rises slightly, chills, and general discomfort. Small amounts of blood may appear in the urine. During the urge, it is sometimes difficult to restrain yourself. This cystitis is easy to treat. Things are worse when the frequent urge to urinate is caused by pyelonephritis.
- Prolonged aching lower back pain, high blood pressure, high fever. It is not only medication that comes to the rescue. Herbal preparations and herbal teas have a great effect. In this disease, a special gentle diet is indicated.
- Urethritis. Unpleasant burning sensation and frequent urination are the main symptoms of this inflammation. Elimination of the infection of the urethra and restoration of microflora quickly lead to a successful result.
- Urolithiasis also affects women, but is less common than men. However, the symptoms are similar. Intermittent urination, pain and cramps, burning sensation, blood in the urine.
- Gynecology.
- Fibroids of the uterus also very often become the cause of urinary disorders. This benign tumor grows and presses on neighboring organs, including the bladder.
- Prolapse of the uterus. Frequent urination is caused by significant displacement of the uterus.
Diseases of the endocrine system
Diabetes mellitus. Symptoms of women with this disease are no different from those of men. The same thirst and dry mouth, desire to drink plenty of fluids, itching all over the body, impenetrable fatigue.
Diabetes insipidus. A huge amount of urine is excreted. Constant thirst plagues. Dehydration is possible. In this disease, hormone therapy is performed to increase vasopressin.
The reasons for frequent urination in pregnant women are associated with the restructuring of the body due to the growth of the uterus. Another reason for frequent trips to the toilet, especially at night, is swelling of the legs. The body is resting, is in a horizontal position, the water flows out.
Peculiarities of urination in children
The problems of pollakiuria do not concern children in the first year of life. The kid pees constantly, wherever he is. A small person's bladder is emptied up to 25 times a day. And this is absolutely normal.
Thanks to the great invention of diapers, the parents of the child do not experience any difficulties. Children aged one to three years use the potty twice less often, and by the age of eight or nine the child grows up, his anatomical structure is made more perfect, and a healthy second grader or third grader in this matter is no different from his parents. However, children also get sick, and there is a need to closely monitor how often the child goes to the toilet.
Kidney disease occurs in children at an early age. They can be either acquired or congenital. With kidney pathology, there is no escape from frequent urination. Most often, children suffer from pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, cystitis and chronic renal failure. A child experiences all of the same symptoms as an adult. Fever and sweating are often added and, of course, children cry when they do not understand what is happening to them, all the more if it gives them physical torment!
In addition to kidney disorders, young children have diabetes mellitus and non-diabetes mellitus. And here kids experience the same troubles as adults. Both thirst and urinary disturbance, vomiting is added. Diabetes can also be hereditary. Parents pass this sad baton to the child. It is imperative to control baby food. A minimum of sweets and exclude overeating. Feeding a child does not lead to anything good.
Enuresis. Why does the child urinate at night. Probably, such a child has not yet been born who would not describe himself at night! This is most often due to the small volume of the bladder, in addition, children move a lot and drink a lot of water. Doctors classify enuresis as primary and secondary. The primary concerns are not yet the perfection of the urinary system and the undeveloped response to the urge.
Secondary enuresis includes childhood fears, overexcitement, cold rooms and the habit of drinking a lot before bedtime. You can not scold and shame a child in the morning, finding a wet sheet. On the contrary, you need to joke so that the child does not expect every fall asleep with horror. In this case, time is the best doctor. The time will surely come when the baby will say: I don't pee in bed anymore!
The problem of frequent urination cannot be solved until the exact cause of its occurrence is established. As you can see, this symptom is inherent in very many diseases. And only in the case of young children who are not yet fully in control of themselves at night, such a violation goes away on its own.
