At present, prostatitis is a fairly common problem among men of different ages.Very often it causes the development of complications, one of the most common of which is male infertility. That is why in most cases, it is required to start a quick and comprehensive treatment.

Phytotherapy for prostatitis

Phytotherapy is a method of treating diseases through herbal remedies. They are used in various dosage forms, the most common of which are decoctions, tinctures and herbal teas. Herbal preparations are effective against both acute and chronic inflammation in the prostate gland and have the following properties:

Effectiveness of herbal medicine

Phytotherapy for prostatitis is a fairly effective method of treatment, but with an acute and pronounced clinical picture, such therapy may not be enough. Most often, the effectiveness is most pronounced in combination with other medications, as well as in remission of chronic inflammation.

There are a large number of different recipes for preparing herbal remedies at home.

Nettle products

This plant is used in various dosage forms, decoctions and infusions are very popular among them.

Nettle has a powerful anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and tonic effect. In addition, it helps to increase a man's sex drive. It should not be consumed in large quantities, especially for men in adulthood and overweight. This is due to its ability to thicken the blood. A similar effect can lead to the development of thrombosis, heart attacks and strokes.

The most popular nettle remedies are the following:

Plantain leaves and seeds

Psyllium leaves and seeds have long been known for their medicinal properties. They are widely used as herbal medicine. This is due to the fact that the plant has a lot of healing effects. Among which, the most important are antimicrobial, analgesic, tonic and anti-inflammatory effects.

With prostatitis, the plant is used to facilitate urination, as well as to destroy existing bacteria and relieve the inflammatory process. The plant is useful in acute and chronic forms of prostatitis, as it reduces the severity of effects such as premature ejaculation and reduced impotence.

An infusion of this herb is being prepared for treatment. To do this, fresh or dried plantain leaves and seeds are crushed (15-20 grams) and poured with boiling water (200 milliliters). After that, the mixture is infused until cool and consumed three times a day, 25 ml each. The course of therapy is from one to two weeks. In some cases, it may be necessary to repeat the course, especially if there is a risk of prostatitis becoming chronic.

Ginseng root

This plant is useful in relation to all systems of the body, but it mainly has its effect on the immune and reproductive systems. Its action is aimed at providing immunostimulating and immunomodulatory effects, as well as increasing immunity resistance and reducing inflammation. Also, with chronic prostatitis, the plant helps to increase the sexual activity of a man.

Ginseng root is used in the form of tincture. This requires the preparation of 70% purified ethyl alcohol and ginseng root, previously washed and purified. The infusion is prepared subject to the ratio of crushed root and alcohol 1:10. The resulting mixture is left in the glass, after which the container is removed for infusion in a dark place, for up to one month. Take the tincture in small portions, approximately in the amount of 15 drops three times a day. It is recommended to take it before eating. Also, many men have a restriction on the use of ginseng tincture due to the alcohol content.

If alcohol is contraindicated for a man, you can use an aqueous solution. In this case, the ratio of ginseng is doubled and, if necessary, the mixture can be boiled.

Horsetail decoction

Horsetail is widely used to treat various inflammatory processes, especially the genitourinary system. In men, it is widely used in the treatment of prostatitis, especially in its acute form. The plant also has a powerful anti-inflammatory, diuretic and bactericidal effect, with regular use it removes signs of intoxication.

To prepare a decoction from the presented plant, 10 grams of dry field horsetail are mixed with 100 grams of boiling water. The mixture is infused until cool, after which it is consumed twice a day, 100 ml each. The course of therapy is recommended until the complete disappearance of the symptoms of the disease. Within a few days after regular use, a man may notice an improvement in his condition and a decrease in pain and urination disorders.In some cases, in the chronic course of the disease, especially in young people, it is recommended to use the mixture in order to prevent relapses.

For ease of use, you can insist the plant on ethyl alcohol and consume in a small amount. In this case, 50 grams of horsetail is mixed with 150 ml of ethyl alcohol. The mixture requires infusion for 21 days, after which 10 ml is consumed daily.

Decoction of burdock root

Burdock root is used in the treatment of prostatitis in order to provide a diuretic, anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating effect. Very often used for violations of organ function and severe intoxication.

To prepare a decoction, pour the crushed and pre-peeled root with water and boil in a water bath for 15-20 minutes.

These herbal remedies rarely lead to the development of side effects. At the same time, almost all of them are widespread and easy to prepare.

Swamp calamus

It is quite an effective remedy in the treatment of prostatitis, it has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, antispasmodic, sedative and antibacterial effects. In addition, along with getting rid of prostatitis, marsh calamus has a positive effect on the nervous system and improves potency.

To prepare the remedy, you need to take 15 grams of grass and brew in 600 milliliters of boiling water. The tool must be consumed 3 times a day, 100 milliliters.

The herb has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. In the treatment of prostatitis, the herb can be used both for oral administration in the form of a decoction, and as microclysters.

To prepare a decoction, pour 5 grams of sage with 200 milliliters of water. The tool is used three times a day, 75 milliliters.

Parsley juice and seeds

Parsley is especially popular in the treatment of prostatitis. You can drink e juice (3 times a day before meals) or use the seeds to make a decoction.

If the second method is chosen, then you should take 10-15 grams of parsley seeds and grind them into powder, and then boil for 15 minutes. The decoction is used 4 to 6 times a day in the amount of one tablespoon.

Mix of celandine and hemlock

These plants are widely used in the treatment of prostatitis, but they must be used with extreme caution, as they are poisonous.

To prepare tinctures from them, you need to take half a tablespoon of each herb and pour them into a dark container, 100 milliliters of alcohol are poured on top of the plant. The resulting mixture is infused for 10 days, after which it is filtered and consumed daily 30 minutes before meals.

Prostate adenoma - symptoms and treatment with folk remedies.

Prostate adenoma, designated by the specialized term "benign prostatic hyperplasia" is a very common disease among the male population. According to statistics, every second man over the age of 48-50 consults a urologist about a benign tumor of the prostate. The risk of developing the disease increases with age. The symptoms and treatment of the disease are familiar to doctors, in contrast to the causes, which, despite numerous studies conducted by scientists in different parts of the world, have not been fully identified.

Causes of prostate adenoma

It is believed that the following factors provoke the disease:

  • obesity ;
  • physical inactivity;
  • hypothermia;
  • regularly interrupted sexual intercourse (contraceptive method);
  • chronic infectious diseases;
  • bad habits (smoking, alcohol addiction, drug use);
  • Changes in hormonal levels caused by age, or the so-called male menopause.

In particular, hormonal changes in the body remain at the moment the most likely cause of prostate hyperplasia. It is these processes that can provoke the growth of adenomatous tissue in the prostate, which is located in areas located near the urethra. Increasing in all directions, adenomatous tissue leads to the growth of the gland. Most often, this causes compression of the urethra, in which there are problems with urination and urine outflow. This is expressed in unpleasant and painful sensations of a different nature.

Prostate adenoma - symptoms and treatment

Characteristic symptoms of the disease:

  • frequent urination at any time of the day with imperative urges;
  • painful urination;
  • difficulty starting to urinate - the patient has to strain the muscles of the bladder, strain;
  • strong urges;
  • the stream of urine comes out without pressure, often falling vertically;
  • droplet excretion of urine due to the constant accumulation of residual fluid and loss of elasticity of the bladder;
  • inflammation of the upper urinary tract and kidneys in cases of spread of infection penetrating the ureters due to stagnation of urine in the bladder.

Treatment (conservative) of prostate adenoma

The urologist prescribes the appropriate therapy for the stage of the disease. Treatment of adenoma is carried out on an outpatient basis (at home), or in a hospital. Conservative treatment with drugs is usually effective in the initial stages, when the patient urinates without difficulty, and urine is completely expelled from the bladder. The main objective of therapy is to reduce the growth of the gland, reduce the volume and relieve the symptoms of impaired urination.

Traditionally, drugs that affect the hormonal balance, affect the tone of the prostate and urethra, and herbal remedies are prescribed. In later stages of the disease, surgery may be required. Nowadays, there are many methods of treatment that allow not only to alleviate the manifestations of the disease, but also to significantly reduce the volume of the prostate. Prostate massage and suppositories for adenoma are effective aids.

Possible complications of the disease

Most of the complications of prostatic hyperplasia are caused by a violation of the normal outflow of urine, which is dangerous not only for the health of the bladder, urinary tract and kidneys, but for the whole organism as a whole. Complete overlap of the overgrown adenomatous tissue of the prostatic part of the urethra causes the development of acute urinary retention, which is a very dangerous pathology. Some external factors can provoke this condition: hypothermia, the inability to empty the bladder in a timely manner, the intake of alcoholic beverages, stress, overwork. In such a situation, urgent hospitalization is required. This complication can occur at almost any stage of the disease.

Cystitis, pyelonephritis, chronic renal failure can develop against the background of the progression of prostate adenoma, due to the spread of pathogenic microorganisms, the nutrient medium for which is the systematic accumulation of urine residues in the bladder. Frequent companions of adenoma are macrohematuria, urolithiasis, hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux, chronic urinary retention, thinning of the muscle layer of the bladder walls.

It is possible to prevent the development of complications only by consulting a specialist in a timely manner. Be sure to follow the prescribed therapeutic measures and follow all recommendations. Treatment of the disease in the early stages, as a rule, gives good results and helps to avoid surgical intervention.
